They’re not designing women’s wear. They’re “creating characters”. Aimed squarely at pubescent boys. And yet there’s females dressing up like those characters. For reasons good to them, I suppose.
On another note, the current alternative for “modern audiences” seems to be large companies hiring “narrative development consultants” that lead to blandly-outfitted, deliberately ugly people, by preference of indeterminate sex, and tepid, boring stories. And in case of existing franchices, all sorts of forced changes at odds with previous canon for no in-universe justifiable reason. Leading to massive and loudly embarassing flops in multiple entertainment industries, including gaming. I’m not seeing Princess dressing like that, either.
I’m going to guess that Princess is more of a short-attention-span social media consumer, and her interest in entertainment media does NOT extend much beyond the celebrities themselves.
So no chance of her prancing around in cosplay at a con then. That’s… well, probably better for all involved. In some ways it’d be easy pickings for her. In others, she’d need actual skills and background knowledge to pull it off. Which thus would be the weakness that little ms. donutshop got her all riled up over: She can’t really duplicate that trick. Not on her own anyway. Who could be her friend to show her the cosplay ropes?
(I’m assuming a “not” fell out of that sentence.)
Also, re: below. Which diagnostic manual, the DSM-5? It’s got diagnoses for everyone. It’s the Oprah Winfrey of mental diagnoses.
What I really like about this strip is how Baron and Princess have completely ignored Rex being such a colossal tool last strip and just continued on with their bickering like he doesn’t exist
And Princess is really insecure about boys not fancying her isn’t she?
It’s probably been the only way she gets what she’s wanted all her life. In a Queen Bee’s mind, you are either her slave, worthless to her, or against her… and those last two often overlap to ridiculous degrees.
Stephen & evileeyore: Yes and yes. The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders probably has a chapter dedicated specifically to Princess.
Imagine if all the others started using action figures to interact with her, and dissed her just as much. Sure, SHE doesn’t want any of them, but she NEEDS all of them to want her.
She IS the woman who tried to help the lawyer get some masculine attention in the cube farm. She just doesn’t like other people to feel good or to have a center that’s not herself.

Yes and…. hmmm… double yes.
She’d either quit, get married or start weeping into her barcadi and coke about how she’s christmas cake and almost past it at the grand old age of 24
Then she’d start seeking revenge on those whom no longer fancy her
Congrats, Stephen! Of course, I did facepalm through most of the other comments too! 😉
Thanks! I do believe that is my second award in the category
I think I got my first one for the joke about how Judges get selected!
Oh, don’t be such a stick-in-the-mud. Embrace the fun!
Yeah! Don’t be a stick in the mud… wallow in it! (Princess says mud baths are good for your pores.)

I not sure Princess gives a rat’s ass what other people think or feel. Amateur diagnosis: Malignant Narcissist.
So now she’s having a conversation with a toy, I guess she’s just like everyone else working there.
You don’t have to be crazy to work there… but eventually stay long enough and you will be crazy from working there.
evileeyore, you accurately described my career in the video game industry.
Are we eliminating the possibility that the toy is actually sentient?
