But according to the lady lawyer all five of the women are prequalified with gender-points to put them ahead of all those 125 other applicants.

They can’t ALL be car crash interviews?

    Can they?

    Survey points to YES, bigtime

Great stuff (to view from a distance at least)

To be fair to Dee, I went to history school so I couldn’t do “5 to the power of 3” with confidence either.

Duuuude, learn some math. It’ll make your lives with these people so much easier.

Frank, sorry to burst your bubble, but learning math won’t make working with programmers easier. In fact having non-expert level scripting ability or rudimentary programming skill will only give them a window of opportunity to mercilessly mock you.

We all have our specializations Frank. You might understand mathes beyond PEMDAS, but I doubt you could explain the Five Stages of Revolution (and what is wrong with Crane Brinton’s model) with great depth or how the Hapsburgs rose to power in Europe.

Likewise, I can balance my checkbook and explain geometry with some certainty, but beyond that I don’t much need math – just as you don’t need to know too much of the esotera of history (you’re doomed to repeat it anyway, even if you understand it, because no one else pays attention)
